How We Protect Your Privacy
DocMint is built privacy-first. Learn how our technology keeps your documents completely private while providing the tools you need.
🔒 Complete Document Privacy
Browser-first file processing
Most PDF tools on DocMint process your documents entirely within your web browser using WebAssembly technology. This means:
- No uploads for browser-local tools such as merge, split, rotate, convert, protect, unlock, watermark, and delete pages
- Compression can use secure temporary processing for stronger optimization and does not retain files
- Complete protection for confidential business documents
- Local fallback remains available when the compression service is not configured
How it works technically
When you use a DocMint tool, your browser downloads the WebAssembly processing engine once, then handles all PDF operations locally. You can verify this yourself:
Verify browser-local tools:
- Open your browser's Developer Tools (F12)
- Go to the Network tab
- Process a browser-local tool such as merge, split, rotate, or protect
- You'll see no document upload for those tools — only the tool loading

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Can you really not see my files?
For browser-local tools, correct: we have no technical ability to access your files because processing happens on your device. Compression may use secure temporary processing when configured, and working files are not retained.
How is this different from other PDF tools?
Most PDF tools upload your files to their servers for processing. DocMint keeps most operations local in your browser and uses secure temporary compression only when it improves the result. This gives sensitive workflows a private default while still letting compression compete on output quality.
What happens if I disable analytics?
Nothing changes for you — all tools work exactly the same. We just won't collect anonymous usage data to help us improve the tools. Your choice is completely respected.
How do you make money if everything is private?
We offer premium features for power users and businesses while keeping all core tools free. Privacy isn't just a feature — it's fundamental to how we built DocMint.
